a few facts about wax.

If you've got a question, we've got an answer. Below are questions we get asked a lot. But if you still have a question, don't hesitate to ask us.

Psst! What is a Brazilian?
It is the complete removal (well in the US anyway) of all the hair in the front, back and in between of the pubic region. Some people prefer a landing strip of differing shapes and sizes. I’ll ask your preference but feel free to speak up.

Does waxing hurt?
Depending on the area being waxed the ouch factor will differ. Since I assume you are referring to the crotch let me say its better than a punch in the face. That didn’t help? Ok, it's not like the caress of a feather but really the anticipation is by far the worst part and the sting is over quickly. I will distract you with chit chat to keep your mind off what’s going on in your nether regions. If you're concerned you might have the neighbors calling the police you can take an Ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment. But it really does get better. I promise.

How often should I get it done?
Depending on your individual hair growth cycle, you should come every 3-5 weeks for a maintenance Brazilian or anything really. The more consistently you come, the easier it will be to gauge the ideal time.

How long should the hair be for my appointment?
Your hair should have at least three-weeks hair growth or be ¼ inch. It’s important to have enough hair to get the best results and not leave any behind. If it’s a jungle down there you can give it a trim at home but don’t worry if you don’t. I can do it for you.

Bugger! My period started. Should I cancel my appointment?
You can keep your appointment and I will work around the string. Pop in a fresh tampon and come on in. Just be aware you will likely be more sensitive in the days leading  up to and during your period.

Can I be waxed if I’m using Retin-A, Renova or Accutane?
Nope. Sorry. If you're using these medications you can't be waxed. These medications thin the skin and increase the rate at which your skin exfoliates so waxing can potentially remove skin as well as hair.
